In the early years of my career, I wrote, ghostwrote, and edited museum catalogues, decorative arts books, and business guides. I then spent over two decades writing about "the art of the possible" (aka marketing) for some of the world's biggest software companies. That's when I realized that writing novels wouldn't be such a stretch, especially when I could also use the process as therapy for the times we're living in right now. After all, in a novel, especially a romantic comedy, everything is possible. Well, the therapy worked, and now I can't seem to stop writing!
I was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the daughter of a history professor and a museum curator. I'm the oldest of four children, and I'm pleased to say that my siblings are the best in the world. I'm a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina, and that's why many of my characters also went there. I've lived most of my life in my home state, but I spent four years in Atlanta, and I've traveled to places like New Orleans, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C, Lima, Lisbon, London, Badajoz, Milan, Florence, and Sorrento for work and fun. You'll find all these places in my books, too.
Now I live outside a small town (population 300) in southeastern NC, near both my daughters, and with my very own rom-com hero (with a name like Lorenzo, how could he not be?). We are currently hosts to twelve cats, three dogs, and two chickens (the numbers vary because living in the country is hard on pets).
